TVLine reports that Boston Legal star William Shatner will guest on USA's psychic detective dramedy Psych and he's set to play Juliet's dad. WHAT? Juliet? Juliet O'Hara? Juilet played by the lovely Maggie Lawson? Surely this is a mistake! While I commend Psych for casting a big name as Juliet's papa, I do not buy Shatner as the head of a big Irish family that includes Maggie Lawson and John Cena. I'm hesitant to question the Psych team because they produce such a witty and fun show, but, I have to call them as I see them and here I see stunt casting. Stunt casting is a dangerous game to play because it risks alienating hardcore fans and not hooking any new viewers that the stunt brings in. However, I will say if anyone can pull this off it's the gang at Psych. Good luck y'all!
